What to expect

Quad circuits run on the tracks and dry riverbeds around the Marrakech palm grove and out into the Agafay hills. Sessions start with a briefing and a few slow laps to get used to the machine, then follow a guide in single file across open country — which is where the fun is, and where the scenery is.

No licence is needed and no previous experience is assumed. Helmets, goggles and dust scarves are provided, and a mechanic follows the group. Two hours is enough for a first go; four hours gets you well out into the stone desert with a tea stop halfway. Minimum age applies for solo riders, and children can ride as passengers.
