Trekking valleys in Amizmiz

Tour overview

Day 01 : Marrakech / Ait Zitoun (900 m).

Short transfer to the foot of the High Atlas chain and meet our mule team. The trail runs between crops of barley and wheat in terraces to take us to the village of Ait Zitoun where we spend our first night at the inhabitant.
Picnic along the way and dinner in private homes.in AIT Zitoun Berber village on the borders of the Haouz and the foothills of the Atlas. This is the village “olives”, as these are the olive trees that make the wealth of this small village with 60 souls. The rest of the agricultural activity is based on some livestock and grain crops and some vegetables.

Day 02 : Ait Zitoun (900 m) / Ait Hmad (1200 m).

After breakfast, we climb towards the village of Tizgui, and gradually we discover a magnificent panorama of the Haouz and Amizmiz region. We cross the Col Ait Ahmad at whose feet the terraced fields and villages on the side of mountains abound. Lunch en route and overnight at the inhabitant.
Ait Ahmed-The village is built using materials found on-site, earth and stones. At over 1200 meters above sea level, this village has about 200 inhabitants is built amidst a landscape more mineral. Village life focuses mainly on subsistence farming with irrigated terraces in the orderly, providing fruit, cereals and vegetables in the village. Some livestock farming activities also complete.

Day 03 : Ait Ahmad (1200 m) / n’Tala Imi (1350 m).

We climb on the left bank of the wadi Amizmiz to discover the daily life of villages: traditional crops, pastoral life, women’s work. Arrival in the afternoon homestay where steam ahead. The traditional production of bread is also part of our discoveries in host Imin Talat. Lunch en route and dinner in private homes.
Imi n’Tala is a large Berber village, the largest of the villages. It is on the mountainside, and its geographical position more exposed on the right bank of the valley Amizmiz makes it more active in agriculture.
